Monday: Today we learned that God is our friend. God gives us our friends. We also talked about how to be a good friend. The children are playing games to help them recognize each other’s written names.
Tuesday: We learned how God took care of Noah and his family. Noah and his family believed in God and remembered His promises. We also worked on our October bulletin board. Check it out on October 1st to see your children’s great artwork. Wednesday: Reviewing #1, #2, A-C, and introducing D. Children are beginning to recognize words for common objects in the room. (i.e. The word “flag” is on the wall by the American flag in our room) Pastor Seter came and spoke to us about our chapel project from last year called “Project 24”. Project 24 is an effort to build 24 orphanages for children in Africa. This year chapel offerings will go to The Salvation Army. Thursday: Today we talked about how we use our words to solve conflicts. We also talked about how important sharing is. Sharing is something we practice every time we go to the field for recess and have to share the hula-hoops, frisbees, and balls. We also watch a 15-minute movie about sharing. Friday: We have enjoyed singing our Noah’s Ark songs. One is to the tune of “The Farmer in the Dell”. The other is to the tune “B-I-N-G-O” We will be going to the Buffalo River Pumpkin Patch on October 20. We will leave at 9:00 a.m. and return by 11:00. If you would like to come with and/or would be willing to drive, please call or e-mail me. Most likely, we will take the bus and one or two cars for our field trip. Picture Day- October 7 Teacher Conference – October 15-16 (No School) Fall Carnival – October 31 from 3-6 p.m No school – November 9 and 10 Parent/Teacher Conferences-November 12 and 17 Library reminders Library day for Pre-K is every Friday. The children are allowed to take out two new books every Friday unless they do not return their old ones by the due date located in the back of their books. Please return books on Thursday or Friday so that your child can take home two new books every week. Thanks! Show –N- Share: If your child brings home the ice cream pail, remember to have them pick out something special that they would like to talk about with the class. Mom and Dad get to send a snack along for the next day. We have 22 children in class. (Remember, we have peanut, milk, and tomato-based and acid-based allergies.) If your snack cannot be placed on a napkin, please send small paper plates to serve the snack on.
