I grew up in Wahpeton and graduated from high school before entering Concordia University in St. Paul, MN(CSP) in 1980. While at CSP, I trained not only to be a Lutheran Elementary Teacher but also a DCE (Director of Christian Education). Deciding which direction God wanted me to move in was not easy but after a year-long internship as a DCE, God made it clear that the decision to be an elementary teacher was the right one.

After graduating from CSP. my husband, Bernie and I were married and off to his first pastoral call in Chadron, NE. Our Savior's Lutheran Church had a pre-school that was in need of a director/teacher. This ended up being my first call as a Lutheran teacher. I really enjoyed it there.

Bernie was then called to Immanuel Lutheran Church here in Fargo where we moved in 1991. I took a break from teaching to take care of our oldest child, Hannah. During our time in Fargo, God has blessed us with three more children; Katie, Caleb, and Joshua. All of our children have had the great opportunity of receiving an excellent education at Grace Lutheran School.

Also during that time, I've had the privilege of serving at the school in different capacities. I was a teacher's aide for Mrs. Scholten when she used to teach PK and Kindergarten. I also taught Kindergarten at Grace from 1999-2002.

As long as I can remember, I've enjoyed interacting with children and learning from them. I look forward to this year of learning with the pre-kindergarten children as we together grow in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
